pierce AACAP-PAC puts child psychiatrists at the political table to enter the dialogue to advocate for youth and our specialty's unique outlook on children's mental health.
– Karen Pierce, MD

SchreiberAs a trainee I found contributing to AACAP-PAC essential. Though money might be tight as a resident, and I have to seriously consider what to contribute to, doing it for the PAC is almost a no brainer. I plan to practice in child psychiatry for many years to come, so it is crucial that there are people in office advocating for what is best for us as child psychiatrists and even more importantly for our patients. This is why all trainees should seriously consider contributing because we have a long time left to practice and therefore will be the most impacted by the work.
– Justin Schreiber, DO

ngAs a child and adolescent psychiatrist, I try to make a difference in the lives of the children and families that I work with every day. However, there often seem to be larger forces affecting the mental health services that our children need. Getting involved with AACAP-PAC has been empowering, since collectively, we can make a bigger impact and help more lives by supporting pro-child mental health leaders and advocates.
